Lawrence Harte - WISP Business

Lawrence Harte is a wireless communication and media expert. He has written 121 books as of 2021 (30+ on wireless) and is the senior editor of Wireless Dictionary (wirelessdictionary.com). Mr. Harte has designed, installed and tested RF communication devices and systems. He setup and maintained VHF and UHF radios and antenna systems on the USS Independence aircraft carrier. He ran a Navy calibration lab where he tested and repaired communications equipment up to 18 GHz. Mr. Harte developed software and interfaces for avionics equipment automated test programs at Westinghouse using Atlas and Ada programming languages. He was a voting member of the TIA Industry standards committees where he reviewed and created digital mobile radio industry specifications. Mr. Harte has been a speaker at 110+ wireless industry events. He created and presented the 3 hour New RF Technologies course at IWCE conference for 10+ years. Mr. Harte is the inventor of multiple patents on mobile system radio signaling. He has been an expert consultant for Google TV, Samsung, Nokia, and others. Mr. Harte has an executive MBA from Wake Forest University and a BSET from the University of the State of New York.

Dr. Kalaichelvan is a wireless technology business expert with over 30 years of experience as an executive in the communications industry. Since founding EION in 2001, Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan has grown the business to become a world leader in broadband wireless networking solutions and a pioneer in WiMAX, LTE, CBRS and 5G product development. Kalai’s knowledge of the industry has led him to speaking engagements at the World Bank and the title Innovator of the Year from the National Research Council and the CATA Alliance.

Claude Aiken - Wireless Regulation

Claude Aiken is the President & Chief Executive Officer of WISPA, the association representing thousands of fixed wireless providers dedicated to closing the digital divide. He was named a Rising Star in the wireless industry by FierceWireless in 2018. A leader on broadband policy, Claude joined WISPA after nearly a decade at the Federal Communications Commission. While there, he served as a trusted advisor to Chairman Wheeler and Commissioner Clyburn. He held senior leadership positions in the Wireline Bureau and Office of General Counsel, as well as key staff attorney roles throughout the Commission. Prior to joining the FCC, he was a John Marshall Harlan Scholar at New York Law School, where he graduated with a specialization in information and technology law. Claude also holds a degree in English from Grove City College.

Cynthia Rawlings - WISP Marketing

Cynthia Rawlings is marketing director and promotions manager for multiple Wireless Internet Service Providers in Canada and contributing author for WISP Explained book and course. She is a guest host for WISP Podcast. Ms. Rawlings oversees brand development and management, marketing messaging and media, creates and coordinates promotion campaigns, sets up and manages over 60 media communication channels, works with media agencies and is responsible for ad campaigns and budgets.

Yishai Amsterdamer- Wireless Technology

Yishai Amsterdamer is the General Manager of Telrad Broadband Wireless, a leading developer and manufacturer of LTE solutions used worldwide. Yishai is a software engineer, hardware design and WISP systems expert. Prior to joining Telrad, Yishai held executive positions at Alvarion and CopperGate Communications, where he developed high-performance telecommunications products and managed off-shore development teams. Yishai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel.

Scott Schober - Wireless Security

Scott N. Schober is a nationally recognized security expert and CEO of Berkeley Varitronics Systems (BVS), a leading provider of advanced, world-class wireless test and security solutions. Schober also invented BVS’s cell phone detection tools, used to enforce a “no cell phone policy” in prisons and secure government facilities. His expertise extends to topics including the future of wireless technology, protection from insider threats, susceptibility to cyber breaches, the impact of drones, and distracted driving technology. He sits on several advisory boards including ThingBlox, Kean University, Carson Technologies, NimbusID and BlockSafe Technologies.

Jimmy Schaeffler is chairman/CSO of The Carmel Group, a telecommunications, computer, and media industries business analysis and expert consultant. Under the umbrella of The Carmel Group, Mr. Schaeffler has helped wireless communication and media companies to plan, value, and optimize their systems, since 1995. He worked with and interviewed hundreds of wireless Internet service providers to create the Wireless Internet Service Provider Associations (WISPA) 2021 “Lift-off” report, which covers key benchmarks and trends in the Fixed Wireless and Hybrid Fiber Wireless Broadband industry.
